Before Your Appointment.

About

Get Plenty of Rest

  • Sleep well the night before. A rested body will handle pain and stress better, allowing you to focus on the experience.

Eat and Hydrate

  • Have a light meal before your appointment, and stay hydrated. Avoid getting a tattoo on an empty stomach as it can make you feel lightheaded or weak.
  • Feel free to bring snacks with you! Complimentary water is provided in the lobby.
  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine, as they can thin your blood and make the tattooing process harder.

Wear Comfortable Clothing

  • Dress in loose, comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area where you’re getting the tattoo. For example, if you’re getting a tattoo on your arm, a short-sleeved shirt works best.
  • If you get cold, you can bring a blanket!

Bring Identification

  • State law requires us to take a photo of your ID to confirm your age, so bring a government-issued ID (like a driver’s license or passport).

Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure

  • If you have a tan or sunburn in the area where you’re getting a tattoo, it could cause irritation or affect the design. Ideally, avoid sunbathing before the session.
  • Most areas require shaving, your artist can do this for you, or you can shave the area yourself the morning of!

Expect the Appointment to Take Time

  • Some tattoos can take hours, especially larger designs. Bring a book, music, or something to entertain you, and be prepared to stay for the entire session.

Stay Calm and Relaxed

  • The more relaxed you are, the easier the process will be. Trust your artist, and remember they are professionals dedicated to creating your design the best they can.
